A gold mine, not a coal mine
I came across an interesting article that discusses the results of a survey about the satisfaction of business users with their company intranet. As a SharePoint site owner, it is good to have a look a the top 5 of things people want on their intranet:
- people information
- procedures, policies…
- forms
- employee benefits
- organisation news
Also interesting is the list of improvements:
- better content organisation
- easier to find information
- better search
- clear intranet strategy
- getting rid of outdated content
If you keep these in mind, you make your intranet a gold mine, not a coal mine.

Did you mean
I was always having trouble getting the “Did you mean” function of the MOSS 2007 search to work. This is why: it only works if the language preference of your browser (Tools, Internet Options, Languages) is set to one of the supported languages (e.g. english US).
